Fast Fashion – Infographic
In this animated infographic design I sought after promoting a fashion sustainable company called, Everlane. Everlane isn’t mentioned till the end as the sole part of the animation is explaining the poor quality of the fast fashion industry. I wanted the design to tell a story of what fast fashion companies there are, why it’s bad and what people should consider doing.
Intro: Fast fashion
The idea of mass producing clothes to then sell at a lower price moving design quickly from the catwalk.
This idea is common among mass-market retailers like Target, H&M, Forever 21 and many more.
More than 18billion items are categorized into the fast fashion industry every year
Earth: These mass-market fashion companies produce clothes in factories within Bangladesh, India and Central Asia
01: While you might think you’re getting a bang for your buck
02: you’re heavily feeding into environmental pollution. The fashion industry is responsible for 10 percent of the carbon footprint of the world as well as it being the second greatest polluter of local freshwater in the world.
03: All of this is due to the use of synthetic fibers in creating poor quality materials for you the consumer.
Say No: Say no to environmental pollution, poor quality clothes and the 2nd dirtiest industry in the world!
